to evoke Certain Things by means of ritualistic behaviour and circumstances

I was asked to write the opening piece for the schoolyear 2006-2007. Because the opening is a kind of ceremony and it is tradition to ask one of the students of the composition department to write a piece for the occasion I wanted to write something with a strong ritualistic feel to it. It turned out to be more of a kind of procession/ritual than a festive entrada. This is the first (and up till now the only) piece which I have written with a spatial aspect to it. It adds to the theatrical/ritualistic character but also has a clearly audible musical function.
