Premieres by Orkest the Ereprijs and by the Dutch Student Orchestra February 3rd saw the premiere of my accordion concerto for Marieke Grotenhuis and the Ereprijs. Despite the heavy snow many people showed up at the wonderful location, the Bergkerk in Deventer. Sunday February 19th it will be played again in the Gigant in Apeldoorn as the kickoff of the Young Composers Meeting 2012.  Meanwhile, over a hundred students dug in at the Hoof in Someren to rehearse my piece for the Dutch Student Orchestra, The dead hand of Plato, which will be premiered in Someren on Sunday 12th. The ten days following, they will visit Maastricht, Eindhoven, Leeuwarden, Nijmegen, Haarlem, Enschede, Utrecht, Groningen and Rotterdam and they will end the Dutch part of their tour at the concertgebouw in Amsterdam. |
